The first Rolex watch was sold in Jamaica in 1935 to Henry Lopez of Abbey Court Great House by the Swiss-born merchant Rudolf Wäckerlin at his newly-opened watch and jewellery store in Kingston called Swiss Stores. Some 76 years later, Swiss Stores is still under Swiss management with Peter and Ueli Bangerter at the helm, and continues to be the only official Rolex retailer in Jamaica through its four locations as well as offering after-sale services at its new state-of-the-art workshop.
