As the birthplace of reggae music, Jamaica proudly presents Reggae Sumfest, a major festival on the annual calendar. With a week-long event showcasing the best reggae and dancehall artists, this festival is a must-attend for music lovers. In January, the Rebel Salute music festival brings reggae royalty to Ocho Rios for live music, food, and art. Past headliners for the Jamaica Jazz & Blues Festival, held annually in Montego Bay, have included Gladys Knight, Celine Dion, John Legend, and Air Supply.

Travelling with a family of foodies? Then check out the Jamaica Food & Drink Festival, held annually in October. Experience everything from fusion to street food, cooking demos, wine tastings, and more from innovative chefs and culinary enthusiasts. The Blue Mountain Coffee Festival, held annually, celebrates Jamaica’s world-renowned coffee against the stunning backdrop of the Blue Mountains. Enjoy live music, shopping, and tastings of the finest coffee in the world high up in the cool misty hills.
The Jamaica Rum Festival attracts thousands of visitors from around the world for the best in rum, music, and food. Get into the spirit of pure Jamaican hospitality and take part in tastings, tours, and workshops by local distilleries to learn the incredible history and craft of rum.
Sports
Negril’s Reggae Marathon is rated as one of the best marathon experiences in the world – undoubtedly for the good vibes, unbelievable views, and reggae music that can be heard all along the course. Runners from around the world return year after year to take part. For more adventure, Jake’s Off-Road Triathlon in Treasure Beach, is the world’s longest-running off-road event that leads participants on a 300m swim through the Caribbean Sea, followed by a 25K bike ride through the mountains, and a 7K trail run. It’s not for the faint of heart – but the vibe attracts people of all ages and abilities, as they cheer on participants in a spirit of fun and togetherness.

Have you really partied if you’ve never partied in Jamaica? The streets of Kingston explode in colour for the annual Jamaica Carnival. Few experiences can rival that of the vibrant bands of revellers parading through the streets to the thumping dancehall and soca beats.
